There is so much to say about how much I loved having Dr Cordray as my plastic surgeon at the age of 70 with two 38 yr old ruptured breast implants that needed to be removed. I had no idea what that might look like, but in my imagination, I had to be prepared to just have an incision on each side, implants removed and sewn back up, done…but Dr Cordray gave me so much more than that! She didn’t have to and I know that. If you’ve never navigated care from a plastic surgeon, it can be quite daunting, just educating yourself alone. It’s much different than picking your pcp. First of all, I learned that with a history of breast cancer, radiation, lumpectomy, sentinel node removal and biopsy that has caused damage, deformity and asymmetry to your breasts, there are surgeons that do not want to do the work and won’t even give you an appointment. Some offices are just mysteriously hesitant and hard to get information from. Finally, another doctor referred me to Dr Cordray. No such nightmare scenarios from Dr Cordray’s office! Erica is the first person I spoke to. She is so kind, knowledgeable, confident and reassuring. Complete openness and transparency from beginning to end. I had appointments with other doctors but after meeting with Dr Cordray, I immediately cancelled all of them because Dr Cordray was obviously “the one”. I was certain Dr Cordray’s kindness, competence and willingness to help me could not me surpassed and I would be in good hands. She made my consultation very comfortable. She explained everything in great detail. She would remove the damaged implants, replace the implant on the right side, do a lift and reduction on the other-sounded very complicated and beyond my expectations, but the important thing was she was happy to talk to me about a plan and never once mentioned just taking the implants out and sewing the incisions up as is. I only go into such detail to say there is obviously nothing too complicated for this talented, skilled physician and stellar human being! Dr Cordray took her time, speaking to me as a human being, as well as a patient. She shared a lot about herself and asked me about myself. My surgery was scheduled as an outpatient procedure and every single team member I encountered at Roper Hospital was also great. The next day which was a Saturday, Dr Cordray personally called me to check on me. I’ve had several follow up visits since. She always creates the same calm, relaxed, atmosphere and if I freaked out about something in between visits, Dr Cordray always responded quickly to answer any questions. I could not be more pleased with the care and the results I received from Dr Cordray and her entire team. I am truly grateful Dr Cordray’s office is where I landed on this unexpected journey!
